Privacy Policy

How Yutva handles data

What we collect, why it is needed, and how student privacy is protected.

Who can use Yutva

Yutva is intended for verified high school students who are at least 13 years old. Students under 13 should not create an account or use the app. Access to a school community may require manual approval by an authorized admin.

Yutva does not knowingly allow children under 13 to use the service. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 13, we may disable the account and delete associated personal data. A parent or guardian can contact support with a concern.

Information we collect

  • Account information such as email address, display name, school, grade level, approval status, role, reputation score, and helpful answer count.
  • Academic content such as questions, replies, subject chat messages, resources, subject requests, subject follows, Helpful marks, solved-question activity, reports, and in-app notifications.
  • Settings and preferences, including anonymous posting preference, reply notification preference, and study reminder preference.
  • Safety preferences, including the students you choose to block.
  • Moderation metadata, including author IDs, report details, hidden-content status, review status, and timestamps.
  • Technical and service data such as Firebase user IDs, authentication records, server timestamps, and app activity needed for functionality, security, reliability, and abuse prevention.

How information is collected

Information is collected directly when a student creates or signs in to an account, completes a profile, posts a question, replies, sends a subject chat message, requests a subject, shares a resource, follows a subject, marks an answer as Helpful, blocks a student, submits a report, changes settings, or uses another app feature.

Firebase also creates service records such as account identifiers, authentication events, server timestamps, and security information needed to operate and protect the app.

How information is used

Yutva uses information to manage accounts, verify access, show questions, replies, subject chat messages, and profiles, support anonymous posting where offered, provide notifications, review reports, moderate unsafe content, respond to support requests, and improve reliability during beta testing.

Anonymous posting

Anonymous posts and replies hide your display name from classmates. Anonymous activity is not invisible to Yutva's safety systems. Private author metadata may still be stored so authorized admins can investigate reports, harmful content, impersonation, spam, safety issues, or rule violations.

Subject chats are not anonymous. A student's current display name appears with every subject chat message.

Service providers and data protection

Yutva uses Google Firebase services, including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Firebase Hosting, to provide account access, database storage, backend processing, moderation support, and this website.

Service providers receive information only as needed to provide these functions. Yutva requires service providers that process user data to provide the same or equivalent protection described in this policy and required by applicable platform rules.

Sharing, advertising, and tracking

Yutva does not sell student data. Yutva does not use student content for advertising and does not use cross-app tracking for advertising. Information may be disclosed when required by law, needed to respond to a serious safety concern, or necessary to investigate abuse and protect students.

Reports and moderation

Students can report inappropriate content. Yutva may automatically flag and hide content that appears unsafe or inappropriate. Authorized admins may review reports and flagged content to protect students and enforce community rules.

Students can block another student to hide that student's identifiable questions, replies, and subject chat messages from their own view. Anonymous content is not linked to a public student profile and therefore cannot be hidden through a profile block.

Data security

Yutva uses account authentication, verified-school access, role-based admin permissions, backend security rules, and moderation controls designed to limit access to personal data. No online service can guarantee complete security, so students should not post sensitive personal information.

Data retention and deletion

Yutva keeps account information, user-generated content, settings, reports, moderation metadata, and related app data while an account is active or while the information is needed for app functionality, safety, moderation, dispute handling, or legal compliance.

Subject chat messages are generally scheduled for automatic deletion about 30 days after they are sent. Deletion may not happen at the exact expiration time, and limited records may be kept longer for an active safety review, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

Yutva aims to complete a confirmed account deletion request within 30 days and will provide confirmation when the manual process is complete. Account information and associated user-generated content will be deleted. If limited records must be retained for safety, abuse prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance, personal identifiers will be minimized and access will be restricted. Temporary backups or cached records may remain for a limited period before they are overwritten.

Your privacy choices

Students can update profile information and preferences inside the app, choose whether to post or reply anonymously, change notification settings, block or unblock students, and initiate account deletion from Settings. Students can also contact support to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data.

Optional preferences can be changed at any time to withdraw consent for those choices. If a type of processing is necessary to provide an account or protect the school community, a student can stop that processing by requesting deletion of the account.

Policy changes and contact

Yutva may update this policy as the beta and its data practices change. The updated date will appear on this page, and App Store privacy information should be updated whenever collection or use changes.

For privacy questions, data access, correction, or deletion, email classharbor.support@gmail.com.

Terms of Use

Basic expectations for using the app

The rules that keep Yutva focused on honest academic help.

Eligibility and accounts

You may use Yutva only if you are at least 13 years old, use your own account, are approved for the school community you access, and follow these terms and the community guidelines.

Account security

Use your own account, keep sign-in information private, and notify support if you believe someone else accessed your account. Do not impersonate another student or create accounts to avoid approval or moderation.

Academic use

Yutva is for academic questions, peer explanations, study resources, exam preparation, college applications, and constructive student help.

Do not use Yutva to cheat, ask others to complete graded work for you, share test answers or answer keys, bypass school rules, or encourage academic dishonesty.

Community behavior

Do not post bullying, harassment, threats, hate, personal attacks, spam, intentionally misleading answers, sexual content, violence, encouragement of self-harm, private personal information, or content that violates school rules or applicable law.

User content

You are responsible for the content you post. By posting content, you allow Yutva to display, store, moderate, hide, remove, and process that content as needed to operate and protect the app.

Subject chats and anonymity

Subject chats are for constructive, course-related conversation. Chat messages always show the student's display name; anonymous mode applies only where the app explicitly offers it for questions or replies.

Rights to shared content

Share only content that you created, are allowed to use, or have permission to distribute. Do not upload private teacher materials, copyrighted answer keys, or another person's work without authorization.

Moderation and access

Yutva may review, hide, restore, restrict, or remove content and accounts to protect students, investigate reports, enforce these terms, or comply with legal requirements.

Yutva may rate-limit, temporarily mute, suspend, or remove accounts that spam chats, repeat messages, evade moderation, or create safety concerns. Students may block another student to hide that student's identifiable community content.

No guarantee of correctness

Peer answers and resources may be wrong. Always verify important academic information with a teacher, class materials, or official sources.

Beta availability

Yutva is a pre-release service. Features may change, and access may be interrupted for maintenance, security, or testing. Yutva does not guarantee uninterrupted availability during the beta.

Emergency disclaimer

Yutva is not an emergency service. If you or someone else may be in danger, contact a trusted adult, school staff member, or local emergency services.

Community Guidelines

Keep Yutva calm and useful

Simple standards for asking questions, sharing resources, and helping classmates.

Use it for learning

Ask academic questions, explain concepts, share allowed study resources, prepare for exams, and help classmates understand material. Keep subject chat conversations constructive and related to the school community.

Be respectful

Do not bully, harass, threaten, insult, shame, or target other students. Disagree with ideas respectfully.

No cheating

Do not ask others to complete graded work, share answer keys, or distribute private teacher materials.

Protect privacy

Do not post addresses, phone numbers, passwords, private schedules, screenshots, medical information, or personal details.

Report harmful content

Use the in-app report controls for unsafe questions, replies, or chat messages. Reports enter an admin review queue. You can also block a student whose identifiable content you no longer want to see. Urgent support concerns can be sent to the published support email.

Moderation protects the community

Automated filters may temporarily hide content for review. Admins may keep content hidden, restore it, remove it, or restrict accounts that repeatedly abuse the service.

TestFlight Beta

Information for beta testers

What to expect while Yutva is distributed as a pre-release app through Apple TestFlight.

Pre-release testing

Yutva is being tested before public App Store release. Features, moderation tools, school access rules, and data practices may change as issues are discovered and corrected.

Beta accounts and posts use real backend systems. Testers should follow the same privacy, academic honesty, and community rules that apply to the finished app.

During the beta

  • Use your own account and approved school community.
  • Do not post sensitive or private personal information.
  • Report unsafe content using the in-app report controls.
  • Send product feedback through TestFlight or email support.
  • Request account deletion from Settings when needed.

TestFlight information

Apple may process tester details, device and operating-system information, sessions, crashes, and feedback as part of TestFlight. Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's own policies.

Account Deletion

Request account deletion

Start in the app or contact support using the email connected to your account.

Users can request account deletion inside the app from Settings. Email support is also available for help with a request.

Yutva may confirm the request through the email connected to the account so that another person cannot delete the account without authorization.

Yutva aims to complete a confirmed request within 30 days and provide confirmation when the manual process is complete. The account, associated personal data, and user-generated content will be deleted. If limited records must be retained for safety, moderation, abuse prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance, personal identifiers will be minimized and access will be restricted.
